You won't be disappointed!
hyped garbage
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Ok, I like NO LOVE biker films or tv shows such as SOA. THAT was the epitome of what a biker film or show should be about. This guy Larry Bishop (no idea who the hell he is) writes, directs and is the lead (Prez) in this disaster. He does not even come across as tough or broodish or even a biker for that matter. To me with the use of a Tarantino/Rodriguez cinematic theme it delved into the rivers of crap. Michael Madsen was his titular self as he appears in all his films, In between searching for a killer, he leads a gang whose members are sort of hard to tell apart, except for The Gent (Michael Madsen), so-called because instead of leathers, he wears a ruffled formal shirt under a tux jacket, with his gang colors stitched on the back. Why does he do that? The answer to that question would require Character Development, and none of the cast members develop at all.An Homage to Dennis Hopper who rode tall in Easy Rider, he was cool in this film. He only did 9 more films after this before his untimely death. I surely yawned my way through this garbage. Don't waste your precious time. I gave it a unearned 4 but lean more towards a 3. Even the MC names are ridiculous
The screenplay is rather mediocre - confusing and with too many repetition and clichés. Male muscles and tattoos, and female boobs and waists can be complementary, but not prevailing, and flashbacks / covered faces should not disorientate the viewers to the end. It seems that Larry Bishop took too heavy burden on his shoulders, being 4-in-1: director, the main star, screenwriter and co-producer.Apparently thanks to the banner "Quentin Tarantino Presents" the movie includes several magnificent actors in small(er) roles: Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, David Carradine. Eric Balfour is also okay, but female actors are not special - the sames applies for Larry Bishop. Thus, the movie is OK for killing time, but Bishop is far away from Tarantino or Rodriguez.
Well, I found this movie great. Not spectacular, but great. If you're a fan of the grindhouse, B-movie genre then this is definitely the movie for you. A simple story, with interesting dialogue people penalise this movie for the fact that the dialogue is bland, the acting is amatueristic. However, one thing you have to take into consideration when watching Hell Ride is: it's not meant to be a blockbuster. Nor will it ever be, it's just a fun 84 minute biker flick. Eric Balfour delivered a brilliant performance as Bix/Comanche. Michael Madson, as always, was an amazing choice for his role. Now, Larry Bishop...He's not such a brilliant actor. As many people will agree with me, he should spend more time behind the camera rather than playing the lead role. The setting was great, the cheesy peyote tripping worked well and the cameo performances of Dennis Hopper and David Carradine fitting in nicely. If you don't like the B-movie genre, explicit dialogue or guns and mud wrestling then this isn't the movie for you.Otherwise, enjoy :)
Aptly Named Make no mistake that EVERY last second of this film is nails on a chalkboard! I like biker actions movies and 'Hellride' boasts an impressive cast including Michael Madsen, David Carradine, Dennis Hopper and more. But 'Hellride' is devoid of ANY redeeming values. It's a mere 'Kill Bill' rip off. And a bad one at that. Don't even give this film a chance. It goes nowhere slowly. There's nothing more to say but IMDb requires at least ten lines. Here's the eleventh line.
