P-A-X-497/341, aka “Pax” , a curious young man from the well-ordered but loveless future, travels to present day New Orleans in search of romance novelist Elizabeth Barrett – whose book he has come upon during an archeological dig in the year 3127. Hoping Elizabeth can explain the concept of love to him, which is now nonexistent in his time, Pax embarks on an adventure filled with new discoveries. Elizabeth introduces Pax to life in the year 2011, filled with love, music and of course, destiny. When Pax doesn’t return to the future by the given deadline, Bob, his fellow scientist, travels back in time to find him. Meanwhile, as Elizabeth helps Pax learn about love, she ends up confiding in her colleague, played by Valerie Harper, about her own upcoming “surprise” engagement.

A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

"My Future Boyfriend" is a romantic comedy in the true sense of the genre. And it is a movie that heavily appeals to a female audience. The story is about Pax (played by Barry Watson)who is an archaeologist in the future where he unearths money from 2012 along with novel written by Elizabeth Barrett (played by Sara Rue). Reading the novel, Pax comes upon the word 'love' which is not used in the future (oddly enough), and decides to travel back in time to meet the author and learn the truth about love.I must say that, despite being a man, then I found the movie to be good, it had a nice story, and the storyline was really helped along so nicely by Sara Rue and Barry Watson's acting and the chemistry there was between them on the screen."My Future Boyfriend" was nicely shot and there was a lot of nice scenes in the movie, along with the marvelous beauty of New Orleans serving as the setting. (Although the movie was filmed in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.)Of course, the movie is rather predictable, and the ending, well you saw that coming a mile away. But still, the movie worked out well enough. Good romantic entertainment with the occasional laugh here and there. So if you like sugar-coated romantic comedies, then you should check out "My Future Boyfriend" because it might just be what you were looking for.Perhaps you will even find yourself leaking (as to use one of the terms from the movie).

This made for "abc" family movie is better than most Hallmark productions. It is actually form Crawfish Productions, LLC which should give you a clue to its content. An anthropologist Pax (Barry Watson) discovers money and a book on forbidden love in and old ship. He is intrigued to find out about this forbidden subject. So with the help of his mentor and friend Bob (Fred Willard) he goes back in time to inquire the meaning of love and other mysteries form the book's author Elizabeth Barrett (Sara Rue.)Will he find the answers? Will Elizabeth find a few answers of her own? Will we find a few answers in the process?

It's hard to find anything wrong with this movie. It's a fun fantasy...joyful, endearing, and *short* (clocking into a two-hour time slot at one hour and fifty minutes, *including* commercials).Sara Rue is delightful, as usual, and looking great, as usual. (I thought she looked great even before her weight loss.) Her presence has never failed to brighten any production in which I've seen her.Barry Watson plays "future boyfriend" Pax ("peace" in Latin) to perfection, with just the right amount of out-of-time awe. (In his time, the 32nd century, Earth has "evolved" into a "perfect" world without anger or strife, but also without passion or love.) Set in New Orleans, the locale enables Pax to experience its renowned jazz music, giving rise to unknown feelings and leaving him less robotic in behavior.Fred Willard, too, whose roles too often demand an over-the-top performance, comes in with just the right level of comedic inflection.I even laughed at the wee bit of slapstick herein, a form which usually passes by me unappreciated. All in all, watching this is a mood-lifter and time well-spent.

It was a decent movie until the ending. When he goes back in the past to retry the whole relationship, that just disgusted me.Why erase everything she went through herself in her own life? He should have just went into the present past where he just left to see what the situation was first, instead of abusing the information he knew about her from the previous past.As for the filming in Savannah, where I'm located, they didn't show too much. A few seconds of River Street and I believe one of the restaurants might have been down there. It was decent for what it was, but the ending was far too quick and meaningless.
