Nolan Mack, a soft-spoken bank employee, undoubtedly loves his wife Joy, though their cavernous empty house only underscores how disconnected they’ve always been from each other. Nolan finds himself drifting from his familiar present-day life in pursuit of lost time after meeting a troubled young man named Leo on his drive home. What begins as an aimless drive down an unfamiliar street turns into a life-altering series of events.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Nolan Mack (Robin Williams) is a stiff banker married to Joy (Kathy Baker). They seem devoted but he's been a closeted homosexual for all of his adult life. His father is in a nursing home. His best friend Winston (Bob Odenkirk) has a young girlfriend. He is being primed to be the manager of a new bank branch. One night, he cruises a boulevard and runs over male-prostitute Leo. He tries to take care of Leo who is under the thumb of his pimp Eddie.Robin Williams does a good job. There is a neediness in Nolan that is both off-putting and compelling. The story is almost quaint by today's standard. The problem is that he could come out to everybody and there wouldn't be any damage. Times have basically passed by this movie. Ten years ago, this would be edgy. Today, his homosexuality could actually help in his banking job. It would probably be a relief to Joy to let the secret out into the open and Winston would throw him a party.

Ian McKellen would have been a convenient actor to lead in this as it was a very close to his real life. You might have heard this is a Robin Williams last movie. One final amazing character display where the whole movie was about his part, but nothing else. A decent storyline, but a simple, low cost drama about homosexual. The exposition of the tale was very brief, but took its time to evolve in the entire 90 minutes. Still clarifications like regarding his wife, their marriage and the end scene can not be proved its meaning. Though we can assume them in many angles. I think those were the major setback for this film, otherwise it could have been a better one.I would have loved it if the emotions were stronger. Because the film characters and their relationship constructions were absorbing. So the only missing piece was the sentimental appeal. But Robin Williams' sudden dismissal and the time of this movie is coming out is what heartbreaks, especially the sort of role he appeared in it. I am positive that if you like him very much, then you must see it.6/10

-Boulevard is a 2014 American drama film directed by Dito Montiel and written by Douglas Soesbe. The film stars Robin Williams in his final on-screen role, Bob Odenkirk, Kathy Baker, Giles Matthey, Roberto Aguire and J. Karen Thomas. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 20, 2014. The film was released on July 10, 2015 in a limited release by Starz Digital.-Though Boulevard was released shortly after Williams' death, Soesbe said that he did not see Williams display the depression on set that ultimately led to his suicide. He recalled, "I will testify that when he made this film, a year and two months before he took his life, he was not depressed. He was really into that role and if anything, he was really in character. He was looking forward to his TV series and he talked about his family and his pets and he was funny. I picked none of this up. He's very shy and it's difficult sometimes to penetrate the shyness, which you wouldn't expect from him. But I didn't pick up the depression at all.--Reception: -Boulevard received mixed reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 50%, based on 36 reviews, with a rating of 5.7/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Boulevard features a richly layered performance from Robin Williams, but that may be this dour drama's sole distinctive feature." On Metacritic, the film has a score of 54 out of 100, based on 14 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews". IGN awarded the film a score of 7.0 out of 10, saying "It doesn't offer Williams doing any truly brilliant bits of comedy, nor is it a role that is destined to be iconic, but it fits."

Dito Montiel directs the first of the last four movies Robin Williams made before his untimely death. Nolan Mack(Williams)became too comfortable with his mundane, sexless life. Surely his wife Joy(Kathy Baker)must have had a clue he may be gay; they slept in separate rooms. Not that he loved money, Nolan worked at the same bank branch for over two decades. He seemed tight with his money until one night driving aimlessly on the boulevard he meets up with a troubled young male prostitute named Leo(Roberto Aguire). He keeps wanting to see the young man and will pay him for his time, without sex being involved. Mr. Mack's life will become altered with a chain of life changing events taking place. Depressing and yet, heartfelt.Williams is excellent. Also in the cast: Bob Odenkirk, Curtis Gordon, Elenore Hendricks and Gary Gardner.
