I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

This is a great film. It is slow and not for everyone, but it's supposed to be that way. I came across this director as the guy who make a short Batman film, but he sure did progress. That 9 minute short was good, but this production is no less than a big box version of anything. $900K made a great impact on the Sci-Fi industry with this thought provoking film and while it was a bit drawn out, it really delivered. The cinematography was great, the location was great and the editing was great. There's nothing not to like about this film unless you are expecting some kind of intergalactic war. Although that is taking place somewhere else, the two "aliens" in this film give you all you need for a fantastic film. In our day now, it is nearly unbelievable that someone can make a film on that budget and produce such a masterpiece.

It's hard to believe this only cost 450,000$. The Baha California settings help to no end. This is one of those independent movies that should be spread about as far and as wide as possible -- if only to show the world how good a movie you can make without a Hollywood studio to ruin it for you. If a studio had been involved -- this would suck of putrid political correctness drivel and garbage. Instead, it is very watchable and the use of Red One cameras makes it quite pleasing to the eye. None of the blued and fuzzy Hollywood studio practices pretending to be film work. If the budget here had been 1,000,000,000$ think of how much more could have been done!

I did think it might be a two guy fight and I was right, but the acting and script saved it, and became engrossing.I watched this quite by accident and as a few reviewers have wrote I expected much of the storyline from previous movies.Although this was the case and indeed it began as one on one fighting it was gripping at times and very imaginative, hats off to the two main characters.I think if only there could of been some more humour, there was plenty of opportunities for them to be scripted, it would of raised this movie to cult status at least. It was a film worth watching.

This is a great little sci-fi short story about a solder chasing down a dangerous escaped prisoner. From the very start it is obvious the budget of this movie is very tight. But the production is handle with great skill and -most importantly- care. They obviously couldn't afford much in the way of set but instead of trying to recreate Mars from papier mache and dodgy cgi it has been shot on location in a desert somewhere, which works just fine. The makeup for the aliens is convincing which is where it counts for a character based movie. There is some action but the film is mainly about the two opposing solders and the motivations for their actions. If you have an hour or two to kill on a random Wednesday and you like Sci-fi and this comes up on TV go for it. This movie has a lot of heart but don't expect Avatar.
