It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

That cameo was the only time I laughed in the whole movie. Not at the gag in the scene, but by how colossally stupid the cameo was.The gags...are not even gags. The delivery is so inept. The script...the romance is like the romance between two nine year olds. I know it's supposed to be light, but I expect a little conversation, or even interaction on any level so I can suspend my disbelief. Funny premise. That's it. The delivery is so slow, laboured, dwelling on all the wrong moments. Even the gags are framed incorrectly (which at times even confuses the scene so you can't even tie it to the premise). The director seems to have made a career from tv sitcoms. I wouldn't hire this guy to shoot a ten second ad

I am not sure what did they want with this film? I am not sure there is really the point or was I mistaken? Plot, is there really one? I did laugh some, but it did not give laugh to die for. I am not thrilled at all about it.Acting is OK for this type of film, but I am not sure that it improved the whole experience. Kim Basinger was OK, but that was about all there it was about it. Elvis impersonators did not really thrilled me.There was some good music and bloopers were cute, otherwise nothing really to remember. If you like Elvis and his impersonators this is a film for you, otherwise I would skip this film with no second thoughts about it.

I liked Kim in this movie (this movie is principally following her character around) and I haven't always liked the characters she has played. Entirely believable. The movie has an interesting premise: co-incidental deaths of Elvis impersonators prior to a major Elvis convention. Corbet plays Corbet; that is, if you liked him in Zwick's 'Big Fat' movie, you'll like him in this. The accidental deaths are funny. Richard Kind was great. David Leisure psyched. Tom Hanks, well, for those who are getting kind of tired of Tom Hanks, you'll probably love this one. Critics who pan this, to quote Sheryl Crow, outta "lighten up." There are some better movies, but there are many more that are worse, and you probably have some of them. The directing is good. The story is well-cut. It flows. It doesn't go stale. It is a very light romantic comedy about Pink Lady, dying Elvis impersonators, and old connections eventually working out. The ending was a hoot! Full marks for Zwick. Hope he does more.

For starters, if you are an Elvis fan, prepare to laugh your butt off...or just plain be *+ss!d. This comedy is funny and a little sick. Harmony Jones(Kim Basinger)is a traveling cosmetic sales woman...a Pink Lady...primarily pushing lipstick. While on the road, she witnesses an Elvis impersonator(Richard Kind)burst into flames. Trying to avoid being arrested for murder; she hits the road. Along the way, a couple more impersonators(David Leisure and Tom Hanks) bite the dust with Harmony inadvertently involved. Now two hapless FBI agents(Mike Starr and Phill Lewis)are hot on her trail. A bewildered Miss Jones accidentally meets the man of her dreams...a depressed advertising executive(John Corbett), who happens to be taking his estranged wife's(Denise Richards)Elvis suit to an impersonators convention in Vegas. Harmony thinks the suit is his and hopes to avoid harm coming to him. Also in the cast: Sean Astin, Annie Potts and Angie Dickinson. Wayne Newton and Pat Morita appear in cameos. Fluff and fun. Basinger proves to still be an eyeful. Corbett is great in the role sharing the romantic lead.
