This movie was absolutely awful. I like Kim Bassinger and she has played in some very good movies but this was beyond a stinker. Her character was unbelievable and the direction stuck. As a woman I would have thought of better ways to hide. I wouldn't be standing around watching what my chaser's were doing. It is just an unbelievable plot, which is fine when your watching horror or sci-fi but not when your watching something like this. The moral of the story is why put up with an abusive husband when you can take our 4 punks. The plot could have been good but it was just too unbelievable. I never write these reviews but this was just so bad that I had to. Sucks....sucks....sucks!

To be sure there's nothing particularly original in this. It's a fairly standard chase movie as a woman is chased through the night by a gang of thugs out to kill her in revenge for her having left a nasty note on their car when they double parked in a busy parking lot on Christmas Eve. So, yeah, it's a variation on a pretty standard theme. There are no real "surprises." You know the woman is going to survive somehow, and in all honesty I thought there was a fair bit of tension and suspense through the whole thing. It's a bit unbelievable, sure - but that's the nature of this kind of movie. Unoriginal, yeah - but anyone who reads the description of the movie going in has to know it's going to be unoriginal so don't watch it if you want something brand spanking new. I liked the basic story from the point at which Della began to be pursued to the point at which she escaped. I thought it was well done. The movie was helped by having a better than usual lead. Kim Basinger played Della and did well with the part. So many of these movies feature a complete cast that you've never seen before and that you'll never see again that it's kind of nice to see a familiar face. Ironically, perhaps the weakest part of the movie was also Della, though - not Basinger's performance but the character's background. From the opening scenes of the movie Della is portrayed as a victim of an abusive husband, apparently trapped in this unhappy marriage. That really served little purpose and had few connecting points to the remainder of the movie except to allow for a "shocker" in the very last scene, which, again, wasn't necessary to the story. Go into this with your eyes wide open. If you like this type of movie then this is certainly on par with (and maybe even a bit better than) most "chase" movies you'll come across. But if you're looking for originality, forget it. It all depends what you're expecting from it. Personally, I rather liked it. (7/10)

I recently came across one of Lukas Haas movies and liked it very much. So I decided to look up what else he did. Let me tell you something- he either makes a very good movie, or a very bad one. This one is bad. Like, beyond bad. It is not scary, it is so unbelievable it hurts, the "action" is beyond pathetic. The so called love scene is embarrassing (embarassing because you must watch two very good actors do very stupid dialog, not to mention there is none, like 0 attraction between them.)Not that its the actors fault in any way. They did their best with what they've got - nothing unfortunately. The director should have thought it over -its really really THAT bad. Please, don't waste your time. This said, Kim Basenger is still a unique actress to me and I would watch her next movie.

She may have an Oscar and a Golden Globe, but this film shows why she also is a perennial Razzie nominee. To do a film that is so bad must be an indication that she needs money. She could do ads on why you shouldn't talk on a cell phone while driving, especially at night on the way to a crowded mall.Susan Montford should stick to producing (Shoot 'Em Up ) as she is not very good as a writer/director.She is accosted by four thugs in the mall parking lot, and the first thing they do is tell her they have a gun. What does she do? She starts pushing and cursing them like she knows martial arts or something. She manages to get away, but gets lost in the forest after crashing. Why didn't she run to someones house? We get four thugs with guns chasing a lady with a toolbox. Of course, their guns are no match for her wrench. Ha! Of course, she also has a tire iron and a screwdriver. Those poor thugs. Now, she's home for Christmas - and she brought a gun!
