I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

The first film in 2006 from WWE studios was a disaster in the making. Truth be told WWE studios has NO successful films to prop up. They are generic, campy and always have a wrestler as a star. It did not work for Hulk Hogan, nor did it for Triple H. The Rock and John Cena may be the exceptions to this rule. Kane as the antagonist (Glenn Jacobs) is horrid at acting, but could be a triumph as a psychopath given proper direction. The premise takes place in a morgue where Jacob Goodnight is brought in on a slab and presumed dead. A mistake that is made about 11 minutes in you can see his chest moving as he lays dead on a table. The acting seems forced as they run from Jacob, editing throughout the morgue is jumpy. One caveat as Danielle Harris (who is becoming quickly noticed) is her scream queen self, feisty and hot. Not a huge fan of the character development as we barely get to understand or know a few. The soundtrack is dull as it lays for no thrills as the movie moves along. Really by the 1hr mark you feel so ripped off and bored with the pace you want to turn it off. I somberly gives this a 3/10

Granted, I sat down to watch "See No Evil 2" even after being less than impressed with the first movie. But I had the chance to watch the two movies back to back, so I did so.This sequel is even more pointless and ridiculous than the first movie. At least the first movie had something that resembled a storyline and a backstory, whereas "See No Evil 2" is essentially just a reanimated Jacob Goodnight slasher killing people at a morgue. It made no sense whatsoever that the Jacob Goodnight character came back to life after the severe injuries and trauma that he suffered at the end of the first movie. And as he did come back from that kind of physical punishment and trauma would make him undead, I guess. But it didn't feel that way in any sense. While we are on the Jacob Goodnight character, then it has to be pointed out that the killer is so horribly generic and mundane as he could possibly be, and he doesn't stand out in any noticeably way as a serial killer/slasher character. And how very convenient that there was a mask lying around at the morgue to mask his facial injuries, and even more so lucky that it was the same side of the face that the mask was made to cover up.Furthermore, it was just downright ridiculous that Jacob Goodnight remained alive and kicking after having had an entire canister of embalming fluids pumped into his system."See No Evil 2" did have some adequate and interesting enough kill scenes to it, but it was hardly enough to make up for all the other shortcomings that the movie had.The special effects, both CGI and practical were actually good enough and did serve the movie well enough. Now, it should be said that there actually some good actors and actresses on the cast list.I am sure that there is some sort of entertainment value for fans of the first movie. But for fans of the slasher genre, then "See No Evil 2" is sort of a cold fish to the face, offering nothing much of any worthwhile.

What's not to like about frolicking, fornicating, partying young adults being brutally murdered one by one? "See No Evil 2" liberally borrows from "Friday the 13th". If you've watched "See No Evil" and you're reading this review then you know that Jacob (Kane) wasn't killed. I know, absurd huh? Well, there's your "Friday the 13th" mimic. A giant of a man that's nearly impossible to kill--slaughtering young adults. Oh yeah, and he wears a mask. This movie was a kick back light weight slasher. There was blood, of course, but it was fairly tame. They gave us the obvious favorites to live and the clear favorites to die. Just like all slasher films; dumb decisions will be made, the laws of physics don't always apply and the killer is omnipresent. If you're not bothered by these oft-repeated truisms then you'll enjoy.

Okay, just by looking at it we can tell that it is no masterpiece. But nonetheless, it was entertaining, and i found myself enjoying it, unlike the first which was a complete and utter mess. Katharine Isabelle gave a terrific performance and she was pretty much the sole reason why i gave this movie a chance. I found that i was a little short though, something that i rarely find. Most movies in this category are way too long for some reason and packed with garbage and fake scares. This however, had a perfect combination of gore, plot and scares. I was a fan of American Mary, also starring Katharine Isabelle and also made by the Soska twins. Going into this movie, i wasn't so sure that i was going to like it, basing my thoughts off the first, but it completely shocked me by how good it was and the whole series up in my opinion. Im actually shocked at how low of a rating it got. The soska twins have gained a new fan because of this movie.
