I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

This film tells the story of three American soldiers who stopped a massacre on a train to Paris.I have always loved Eastwood's films because they almost always drive me to tears. This time, I am hugely disappointed by this film because the soldiers don't even board the train until 68 minutes into the film. There is simply not enough story from the train to fool 90 minutes to screen time, so the film spends an hour telling how the three soldiers grew up. The back story isn't really relevant or interesting unfortunately. Their heroic act is better made into a short film, instead of a full length feature. This film is unfortunately very weak for an Eastwood film.

The movie's premice is such a wonderful depiction of what Humans can and should do that this movie only exploits the idea and ruins the actuality. I am so disgusted by how Clint took a fantastic situational solution down to the level of a "D" movie. These young men deserved the best of the best Actors to portray their heroism. I am ashamed for them and for the paying customers. What a total waste of a great act and wonderful idea for a movie. And Clint, change your Damn music for once. I'm so tired of your jazz crap, with so many phenomenal new artists you choose the same thing over and over again.

Don't get me wrong I love a good Marvel hero! And I've got a great joy watching a good action movie. So I was ready to watch something good, something fun, something like a Django in a train... It wasn't it. So I understand that a lot of people feel cheated and disappointed. I don't. This a great movie. It reminds me of Elephant in a good way. We feel like we're with the boys. There's something real in this movie. It seems that Clint Eastwood is free to do whatever ever he wants and this freedom is inspiring. There's purity in this movie instead of the darkness that news, post apocalyptic movie and Tv show spread all over our mind. It's an author movie, like it or not it's great!

I think the intent of this movie was to tell an inspirational story and about how a boy becomes a man that becomes a hero. However, when I left this movie, I didn't feel any heroism. The plot starts off mildly interesting, and then scrambles off into random nothingness. The majority of the movie was meaningless and didn't really relate to the movies purpose. The only action was during the final moments of the film; too late to create an effect. There was no "building up" to the climax. It also failed to create the "this actually happened" feel. Overall, a disappointing, boring movie.
