It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

Mafalda is one of my favorite comic strips. I always loved the particular sense of humor it had which was able to combine perfectly well political satire, philosophical thoughts and sarcasm with endearing characters and heartwarming moments. It was a witty, brilliantly written comic strip which was very funny to read, but at the same time, it could made the readers think about many serious and complex issues:Even when Mafalda was set in the sixties, many of the concerns of the main character are still relevant in the present. It was cute, deep, memorable and also very enjoyable to read.I consider "Mafalda" to be a great work of art, which remains being one of the most intelligent and fascinating comics ever made. However, for some reason, I could never imagine "Mafalda" being adapted into a film, not even a cartoon series. But somehow, it happened.Too be completely honest, this wasn't so bad. Despite some limitations, the animation was decent, and the designs captured the essence of the art from the original comic-strip.It is also worth noticing that this movie was actually a compilation of some shorts done by television, something which serves to explain the episodic nature of this animation. In many ways, it feels like a random selection of a couple of moments from the original comic-strip. Some of those moments doesn't translate very well into the animated format. I also didn't like very much the voices of the characters. It might be just me, but I think that none of voices fit very well with the characters. But despite those flaws, this movie is still watchable. It wasn't so great or entertaining as the original comic book, but at least it respects the essence of the source material, being mostly a decent adaption. It could have been better though.
