If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

This movie contains some of the funniest scenes between a mother and son I've seen on film. The cast does a remarkable job of making the subtle nuances of family life sparkle. Diane Robin is absolutely hysterical as an overbearing mom.

"Dating Daisy" is what you could call a classic love story placed in modern times. We get to see Daisy and her Ex, two young adults, who once were a couple and still have feelings for each other, regaining trust in their troubled relationship. The movie depicts a lot of aspects of love that actually feel very relatable, all the little weaknesses, that most of us will face some time in one way or another. It also provides some humorous scenes that help to light up the serious plot. It is easy to connect with the characters and to feel empathy for their relationship. There are only two minor issues that smaller the otherwise good impression. One is that I'm not sure I'm happy with the cliché rich but cold-hearted Jewish parents, the other is that in the end, especially the final dialogue, the cheesiness takes over a bit too much. All in all this is a beautiful romantic movie, thought-through and realistic. You won't find a lot of plot-twists, but maybe some true emotions along the way.
