The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I saw many movies with same topic there's the cyber bully movie with Hannah Montana's friend which was really bad. This movie is more real and convincing. One thing I can't believe about this movie, the girl was very patient with them. Can anybody be this naive and sensitive.I was watching the whole thing and I'm about to explode. If the bullies can meet me at that moment I'll commit a crime. If this happens to me, I'll stand up for myself I'll ignore it and move forward with my life. The whole thing was non convincing specially the girl's attitude. Can someone be this soft and pure ? I don't think so. I think as well everything was exaggerated over this movie even the effects they made the hall ways look darker with the black metal music all over the movie, the bullies attitude after the suicide attempt.. But, the movie has a good purpose and it's to inform schools about the dangers of bully and how can people learn to not give it such an importance. If someone is bothering you, walk away, choose a farther place at the lunch table, laugh at them, let them know you don't give them any importance, let them know that they're the only losers they're losing their time on some worthless stuff. If they're e-mailing you unbearable stuff just block them and you'll win the sanity of your mind rather than getting crazy or committing suicide.

Teenage high school student Vanessa is friends with Stacey but when Vanessa asks out a boy Stacey has her eye on the friendship ends . Worse it leads to a bullying campaign where Stacey and her friends makes Vanessa's life an absolute living hell that drives Vanessa to the brink of suicide To a degree this is a fairly effective TVM centering around the misery that bullying brings and you really do feel sympathy for Vanessa's plight as she finds herself friendless as Stacey and her gang turn on her . There is a slight problem and that is director Tom Mcloughlin more interested in adopting an MTV directing style rather than developing the story more There's another slight fly in the ointment and that's the climax where Vanessa and Stacey make their peace only for Vanessa to realise Stacey is not to be trusted . Considering everything Vanessa has gone through is it likely that anyone would want to befriend Stacey again after all she's done . It's not helped by the cheesy scene Vanessa's mom mouthing " I'm so proud of you " Having said that it's a TVM made for a certain market and if the production team made it a bit more gritty then the audience might have found it too heavy to watch and the positive comments on this page indicates that ODD GIRL OUT has succeeded in showing what a terrible thing bullying is

As much as i wanted to hate this movie I could not. I knew it was a made for t.v. movie and I could tell it was a movie for teenage girls (i am a 16 year old male). What could I possibly find to like in a movie like this. Surprisingly I found a lot. The acting, while not amazing, is believable enough to make this movie work. This movie gives a mostly realistic depiction of the gossip world in a modern day public high school. There are a few times in the movie where they simply over do it but most of the time it is right on target. Watching Vanessa (the main character) get socially torn apart was very sad to watch and even at the end i was left wondering where she was going next. A very good movie if you are looking for something to tug at your heartstrings.

wow! hey guys, this is a real movie! it's not a typical Hollywood commercial movie about girls. no, it's something incredible that touches you deep inside. your heart will beat faster and faster, you will start crying, suffering, and in the end you will be full of life! an unbelievable movie about bullying with a more than great Alexa Vega who's the best young, new actress in the world! yes, she is. without a doubt! her best friends start bullying her, she doesn't know why. then she doesn't want to go to school anymore. why should she go? everyone hates her! no one wants to sit near her during the launch, in the corridors everyone laughs when she crosses them, during the lessons no one spokes to her. trust me guys, it doesn't matter how tough you are, this movie will touch your heart, you will cry and be happy, happy because you will discover what life is. i don't know why this movie wasn't shown all over the world. all i know is that it gives you something real, something true, it gives you life! and what's more important than life?
