Old St. Leopold's Hospital has many urban legends surrounding it, but the residents of Bridgeport all agree on one thing: tortured souls roam its abandoned halls. The mystery proves too much for a pretty young student who decides to investigate for her senior class project. Unfortunately, she does not find ghosts. She, instead, finds Stanley... serial rapist, murderer, and psychopath. As the young girl becomes Stanley's new pet, a team of young investigators descend on the hospital to "hunt some ghosts." Stanley sees nothing but fun and games in his future. But, what Stanley does not know is that the hospital truly is haunted and the restless spirits there are not happy with what he has been doing.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

The concept of the movie is good. The execution is very weak. With the right people behind this movie and a decent budget this movie could have been much better. Change the actors as well. Such terrible acting, I think my 4 year old is a better actor than most of them combined.Once again, good storyline, although, a few too many boobs and rape scenes.Don't get fooled by the cover of the DVD.. I believe those are fake reviews as well here on IMDb. 5 of the reviews get a perfect 10, which is according to any standards impossible for this movie.Hopefully the makers learn from their mistakes and next project will be better.

Right, the movie's cover/poster actually sold the movie quite nicely, especially because it was the most professional and best part of the movie. Already less than a mere couple of minutes into the movie, you know that it is going to suck. The story in "The Hospital" is about a group of young women who pay to stay at an allegedly haunted hospital with a some paranormal investigators who are shooting an episode for a TV show. But things are not at all what they appear at the hospital.Story-wise, then there were potential in the storyline, but it was horribly executed and even worse portrayed on the screen by the people hired to be in the movie. This was the epitome of wooden and rigid acting. There were so many things in the movie that were just downright horrible to witness, starting with the title track song. Wow, that was just laughable. And the effects in the movie were very low-tech and just came off as way too fake. For a horror movie, then "The Hospital" was frightfully devoid of anything even remotely scary.I will give some credit though, the fact that the movie makers did manage to put together a coherent enough movie on a budget like that. Yes, this was low budget, but you could see that the director was pouring his heart into the movie. And thumbs up for that. Just a shame that there was so many other things working against the overall movie. The reason for me rating "The Hospital" 2 out of 10 stars and not a mere 1 star is because that it was clear that a lot of heart and effort were actually put into the movie on some aspects. If you enjoy horror movies, then stay well clear of this movie. I assume that you might find some enjoyment if you actually know someone who participated in the making of this movie in one way or another.

HERE YOU HAVE SOME guys that have a passion to make films.I myself have been involved in filmmaking I couldn't tell whether it was 16mm or a grade of look a like video. In any event they found the resources to get actors,a location, lighting, editing, original basic soundtrack, subject matter and a script. All these elements were pulled together in hopes of entertaining the public. At the end of my intro i wrote {I JUST HOPE} that the next time i see one of their films IT COMES FROM A BETTER SCRIPT.The story is everything most viewers are willing to sit thru low end technique if the story is intriguing. This very same story could have been told in a more interesting way.One idea would be to raise the social status of the women so when they were kidnapped and tortured the viewer could have felt more of a loss.the audience needs to think --HEY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN MY SISTER OR MY GIRL FRIEND.But no one wants to claim throw away low class women.Acting is pretending that you are someone you are not so make your actors act. There also could have been a villain and a hero and someone that was worth saving even if one of the VICTIMS SAVED THEMSELVES.Everything was present BUT THE STORY.

I picked this up at a horror convention last month and just now sat down to watch it. I don't really think much of indie horror films. I appreciate what they're trying to do but the acting is usually bad and the effects are bad and the stories are cheesy. This one had an interesting synopsis so I took a chance on it.Wow ... just wow ...I don't want to give anything away because that's part of the shock. It starts off like a bad 80's movie but you think it's going to be fun and cheesy and you keep watching. Then BAM! It goes insane. Rape, torture, necrophilia, man rape, and some of the sickest stuff I've ever seen in my entire life. Rape kind of makes me uncomfortable anyway and the rape scenes are so realistic and savage it makes my skin crawl. But I loved it. That's messed up.It goes from cheesy to horrific back to cheesy to even more horrific. I think the filmers were just doing that on purpose to mess with us. You think things are going to be lightened up and the bad stuff is over and then it only gets worse. I'm like obsessed with this movie now. I see Stanley when I close my eyes to go to sleep ... and I kinda like that. There are some really bad computer effects in the movie but aside from that the practical stuff is awesome and the whole hospital itself is insanely scary looking. And Stanley's heavy breathing ... ugggggh ...YOU MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!
