How wonderful it is to see this fine actress carry a film and carry it so beautifully.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

"Jump Tomorrow" is a delightful, surprising sweet road trip of a movie. Very similar in tone to one of my little favorites, "The Daytrippers," it brings together a quirky group of people in a concentrated period of time for a romantic quest. The fresh-faced (though mostly experienced), multi-cultural cast is absolutely disarming, and their cultural variety is integrated into the script very nicely. Very amusing is the cute but restrained use of fantasy; the continuing technique of inner thoughts revealed as dreams in a Spanish telenovella is very original. The song selection is selectively classic rock.I could very well adopt the theme in my personal life: hey, you can always jump tomorrow!(originally written 7/27/2001)

I've given up trying to rank movies with anything systematic or consistent. Now, all i ask myself is, what did i feel? Something about this movie had tremendous heart, and feeling, and it stayed with me well after the credits. Most likely it was Jorge and his earnest efforts at love. He's such a quirky, odd, adorable character. The comedy is not self conscious, and is mainly poker face Jorge trying his heart out to win people over. I love following characters like Jorge, people who don't need Hollywood explosions and sex scenes to tell the audience what he is feeling or what he's about. It's the subtle gestures, the way he hip checks the girl in the face when he leaves the boat, or the way he puts on a tie, these nuances say everything about him. Maybe that's what i liked, the way the movie didn't pander and really respected the viewer and trusted us to pick pick up on these things. Anyways, i loved it.Me llamo es Jorge!

I was charmed by the short, Jorge, taped it and saw it many times. I was teaching film, and used it in class to exemplify a well-made, comic and moving short film. Clicking around on digital TV, I was happy to find myself watching the same delightful, bewildered man on his further adventures.I liked Jump Tomorrow enormously, found it touching and laugh-out-loud funny. Tunde Adepimbe has charisma even when he's struck dumb. All the characters are warm and natural, and the script allows for an impromptu feel, even when it's heading toward a well-structured conclusion. A graceful good-hearted road movie. Thank heaven for independent films. I look forward to Joel Hopkins' future work with great anticipation!

This is an outstanding film, everyone gave a wonderful performance and they were obviously having a good time also. It did not have to compete with the set locations or special effects. The lead actor who played George had never acted before, are you kidding me? Hard to believe how much fun this movie was. If you have missed this movie you missed a comedy gold mine- like a certain cast member taking a bath in a champagne glass! This movie needs to be re-released or something, it did not get the credit it deserved. As in reply to an earlier post, I do not think the story line referred to the wonders-of-a-Latin-American-family-making-your-life-worth-living as much as it showed how wrong it was to base all of your actions in your life on the opinions of family members that seemed more concerned with appearances than with you. Alicia's family was not worried about the fact that she was backpacking across the country with a pretentious, conceited white guy-that was her business. They were just glad that she was home and proud to share their home and culture with her friends. George could see this was how family was supposed to be and this was a safe place to open up. Also introduced him to more of Alicia's charms I must admit. But still all in all, she could have been Polish or Israeli for all that-it was still a welcoming family. Can they help it that Latin Americans are just more fun than your average Nigerian? (kidding!)
