The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

I read the comic book prequel to this movie in the bottom of my comic con bag and found there was a movie so I checked it out. Its very low budget so this review takes that into consideration unlike some of the other reviews I've read here. The story is ambitious and compelling... but it moves slowly. If you go in expecting tons of action and sci-fi, you will not find it. If you go in wanting a story, interesting characters and hints of biblical references, then you'll get something out of it. The writer director Stewart St. John has something to say, and the movie has a strong political undercurrent especially given today's political unrest. You can clearly see where the film is hampered by budget constraints but there is still something there. Bailey Chase shines as the loyal brother Aiden. He is blindly devoted to his older brother played by Eric Scott Woods who I think is a bit miscast. The story revolves around an underground society that has built an entire underworld system where they live after humans created them and then tried to kill them. There is a political leader of the clones (that is basically what they are, clones) who now wants to kill the remaining humans who live up on Earth's surface, but he has a secret (spoiler) that makes him the way he is. The relationship between the brothers and their mother is what was interesting to me, but if you don't like drama with lots of words then you probably won't like this movie.

What else would you expect from Stewart St. John, whose career was made writing and editing kids' fare like "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" and "V.R. Troopers??" This film is aimed directly at the newly-adult audience who grew up thinking those shows were cool. If you were one of those, you will think this movie is cool, you will be revelling in the wooden, eyeliner-plastered actors (villains suitable indicated by underlighting), and you will be eagerly awaiting the next installment in The Creations Wars Saga, or The Chronicles Of Hollow Earth, or whatever Mr St. John is calling it this year. If you can't wait for it, I recommend watching "Skyline," which you will also love.

I would give this film minus numbers if it were possible it sucks - sucks - sucks - it is a crime to waste valuable resources on this pile of pure unadulterated crap. The acting sucks , the story sucks , it is poorly written and the acting is even worse than the writing. I feel as I have been robbed of 97 minutes of my life and Mr. Stewart St John should be banned forever from the directors chair, from writing i noticed that he is on Facebook and that is where i am heading next. I am angry at myself for being optimistic I kept hoping it would get better but it just kept getting worse. The idea is actually pretty good but the execution just plane .....SUCKS!!! I give this a rating of minus 99

This was released as The Next Race a few months earlier. Even after adding about 5 minutes of stock news footage at the beginning it is just as bad, so here is my review of The Next Race as it applies equally well to this drecht. Was this bad. The English language fails in that there is no word or combination of words that sufficiently expresses just how bad this garbage is. If it was flushed down the toilet the bacteria that normally processes waste matter would refuse to touch this movie.a few months later the producers decided the editing was at fault, so they re-edited this, making no improvements at all, and re-released it in 2010 as The Dark Metropolis.Upon flushing this down the toilet the same bacteria that refused to process it in its earlier incarnation, upon realizing it was in fact the same garbage with a different name, committed suicide.if only the producers would take bacteria's hint.
