Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

~Spoiler~ Adrenalin: Fear the Rush is another of those weird action/sci-fi/horror hybrids where you wish they would just pick one genre and stick with it. Yes, this is an Albert Pyun movie so that should prepare you for the worst. Pyun's "better" films consist of Nemesis and Cyborg so I wasn't expecting much going in, thankfully. Actually, I couldn't believe there were no robots in it. What the film does have is completely one dimensional characters. How Pyun manages to get decent actors in his movies amazes me. In Adrenalin, we get Natasha Henstridge (hot off species) as the rookie cop and Christopher Lambert as the haggard "I've seen it all" cop. Throw in Pyun regular Norbert Weisser and the underused Andrew Divoff and that's your cast. The main plot has our cops tracking an unknown suspect (who looks like a reject from The Hills Have Eyes) through an abandoned prison. That is the movie we are watching. Now, there are subplots that make NO sense whatsoever and are complete padding (and the movie still clocks in at only 77 minutes). One subplot is that the suspect has a virus and will "go hot" in so many hours. This is NEVER elaborated on. Nor is it understood how simply killing him stops the virus. Another subplot involves Henstridge buying a fake passport so she can cross the border or something. Who knows. I'm getting frustrated thinking about it. Watch The Hunted or Gunmen if you want to see Lambert at his low budget best.

Normally, I quite enjoy a Bad Movie now and again, but to refer to this film as "wretched" does a disservice to the term "wretched".I'll give it a 2 rather than a 1 since the concept was almost interesting. However, the film itself has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. No plot, no acting, and not even horrible in that MS3TK sort of way that'd make it amenable to some creative razzing.Never have I been so unmoved by an endless stream of blood and gore; it didn't even disgust me. It just left me with a vague feeling that I was a bit glad I had an old crappy paperback detective novel to thumb through whilst (not really) watching it.

Definitely a B-grade movie. What was really funny (or stupid) in this movie was when the special 'SWAT' team came in to kill the half-man, half-monster. Already knowing that the monster eats people and has killed dozens of police officers, a herd of about 6 guys walk in armed with sub-machine guns. The viewer might well believe the monster's death is nigh...But, suddenly, the monster drops down from the roof. With no weapons at all, and in 10-15 seconds, the monster kills them all. What the...?While the editing flashes around, the monster grabs people and throws them around the room - onto conveniently placed, sharp metal objects. The monster then runs away after all of them are dead. Where all the machine gun bullets went, we are supposed to believe, is into the human-shield the monster made using one of the SWAT men. Yeah right... It was a bit like watching those kung-fu movies where, to avoid the obvious loss when fighting 10 opponents, each fighter waits in turn and attacks in a queue. Only this time it was with machine guns. And all the police apparently shoot into walls or each other while they accidentally get grabbed by the monster - who wasn't even injured. It was just ridiculous.I could bear the movie up until that point. But one wonders how much damage an unarmed monster with a tad too much make-up can do?

Although this movie probably had only a small budget it definatly does not look tacky. The sets and custume's are simple and effective, the cast is good and christopher lambert looks and acts well. the film is basicly one long chase seen, which means that the 77 minute run time does not seem short, although an extra half an hour would have been usefull to give more explonation to the whole story Also it looks like the end has been cut short, which leaves you thinking how it really should of ended. My one major problem with this film is there is to much suspence and not enough action. The seen where christopher lambert gets shot is quite impressive, its worth watching this film just for that seen.Over all this is a good low budget movie, which could have been very good if they had not cut short the ending.
