Overrated and overhyped
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
If you are already a fan of the Ring series, you need to check this out. Honestly, it's not that scary. I'll give that to you. But, I personally am a huge fan of the Ring storyline, and love the way this expands on that. It gives a new twist to the backstory. I had just started watching the film on Prime, and after reading these reviews I was about to turn it off. I am glad I didn't.
The start of movie was good. Acting was amazing. I like the twists given in the centre of movie. Gradually building up tension. End was crappy and looked like the writers were utterly confused how to end it. However, well executed overall.
I didn't even know this was a sequel, as it is I'm not a fan of the horror genre. watch only if you like horror films................ else avoid.
There is some wonderful lighting and cinematography in this. And I found the music haunting and effective. I also thought Vincent D'Onofrio was great. Those are the kindest things I think I can say about this. I have so many questions... The main character finds the video and seems to know all about it without anyone having told her. The rest of the movie is a lot of people trying to prevent her from doing stupid things that will kill her. Why won't they just let her die? What's with the lame ending? Why do characters say things like, "Hey, I found out what this thing means," and then not tell anyone what it means? Why was the writing so sloppy? Will that poor actress who played Julia get any more work after this?
