On the first day at his new school, Cameron instantly falls for Bianca, the gorgeous girl of his dreams. The only problem is that Bianca is forbidden to date until her ill-tempered, completely un-dateable older sister Kat goes out, too. In an attempt to solve his problem, Cameron singles out the only guy who could possibly be a match for Kat: a mysterious bad boy with a nasty reputation of his own.

True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Watching it is like watching the spectacle of a class clown at their best: you laugh at their jokes, instigate their defiance, and "ooooh" when they get in trouble.

... perhaps a controversial opinion, but I can hardly understand why. "The Taming of the Shrew", the Shakespeare play upon which this film is based, is atrocious - blatantly sexist, not Will's funniest work or best writing, and unnecessarily vexatious. Of course, the Bard wrote many great works, but "Taming of the Shrew" certainly wasn't one of them. Now, I'm not saying that "10 Things I Hate About You" is a masterpiece better than anything ol' Will had to write (it isn't, I'm a huge fan of most of Shakespeare's other plays), but it is, nonetheless, a good film. It presents Kat as a strong, intelligent woman, rather than a complacent, overly irksome misogynist as Willie had thought necessary. Heath Ledger, who happened to be one of the greatest actors of his generation, was wonderful in this film. He and Julia Stiles make this film one of my favourites of the '90s. The movie is very easy to follow and enjoy. It has some great lines too, such as Patrick's "Don't let anyone ever make you feel like you don't deserve what you want." It's certainly worth all the commotion.
The main characters are Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Patrick (Heath Ledger), Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) and Kat (Julia Stiles). The movie is set in Seattle in 1999. Cameron is a nice guy without so many chances at girls. Patrick is also a nice guy, but everybody is afraid of him. Bianca is the popular girl, that every guy likes. Kat is Bianca's bigger sister, who is annoyed by everything. The movie is about Cameron who falls in love with Bianca and Patrick who falls in love with Kat. The movie is very good for romance movies lovers because it shows the pure love between the 4 teenagers. You should really watch the movie because it's very good.
10 things I hate about you is a romance sprinkled with a little bit of humour that makes it a romantic comedy.This film is directed by Gil Junger and it's adapted from Shakespeare's world-known play "The Taming of the Shew".The main characters are the two sisters,Kat and Bianca.Unfortunately,for Bianca,her father's rules say that she can't date a boy,unless Kat does,but Kat isn't the type to date.Soon Kate meets by accident Patrick Verona and falls in love without thinking about it.The initial release was on March the 31st 1999,so you can find it on many websites nowadays. In my opinion this movie is great,except the clicheic parts.But that's not a major problem,because most people like this.For 1999,the actors acted incredible,so I consider it really worth it.
