This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

This has to be one of my top 5 movies of all time without a doubt. I hear people call it dry humor, but the energy Jim Carrey showed surpasses every other comedian you will see, and it is very contagious in my opinion. I don't want to go too deep but for me the best way to describe this movie is hanging out with Jim Carrey in his prime. A human being at the absolute height of his talent. If you don't like this Jim Carrey then you really don't like Jim Carrey. A legend in my books. One of his few rubber meets the road, completely unreserved movies. MISS YOU JIM!!!! Can't wait for dumb and dumber to!!!!! This has to be one of my top 5 movies of all time without a doubt. Ace Ventura - When Nature Calls (1995) is a funny movie but it is not as funny (or is it as good) as the first movie, the original and classic wacky comedy movie Ace Venture - Pet Detective. The first movie of course was the huge break out role for Jim Carrey that made him a bankable grade A star in Hollywood. The second movie is still funny with some really good scenes (I am thinking of the great scene where Jim Carrey comes out of the special robotic rhino that he was hiding in to watch the bad guys without being seen) but it never is as funny or as consistent as the first/original Ace Ventura.Definitely worth seeing but don't expect the same laughs from the first movie.

Jim Carrey is one of those actors you will find yourself either adoring or hating. He does not ever "underact." This movie made me laugh so hard I cried (even after the fifth time!) From the robot rhino scene to the monopoly guy Jim knows how to be hilarious. I saw the first one (liked it a lot) and have to say this one is way better! I am a huge fan of Carrey. I don't think there are many people who can make such a variety of facial expressions. The only reason this is not a ten is because there is (as usual with Carrey) some inappropriate stuff thrown in. But if your love laughing and you love Jim, this movie will fit you "Like a glove!"

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is a great movie with a very well written storyline and a terrific comedic cast. It's a fun sequel that is much larger in scale and budget than the first one, we get to see Ace Ventura head off on an even bigger adventure this time around that takes place in some very expensive looking locations that show that the studio put some big money in to this movie, but the actors and director still get the creative freedom to make the movie they wanted thankfully. It's certainly a disappointment in comparison to the original Ace Ventura, it's not as entertaining and wacky as the first, and there aren't as many memorable moments, I also would have liked to have seen other characters other than just Ace return, particularly Courteney Cox's character would have been a welcome return. The highlight of the movie is of course Jim Carrey, it is always a delight to watch him on screen, here he is given loads of free time to run around and improvise, and the best scenes of the movie are actually the parts that have nothing to do with the actual plot, they're just Carrey being the legendary funny man he always is. Though it's certainly more forgetful than the original, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is still a fun ride that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good comedy. Ace Ventura comes out of retirement to help find a missing bat who is the symbol of an African tribe. He soon finds himself in more trouble than he expected.Best Performance: Jim Carrey Worst Performance: Damon Standifer
