It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

Many a sequel have come and gone with films and this one is no different. Picking up with similar cast members (Tony Todd) (Kane Hodder) but changing the lead from the first film as Mary Beth is Danielle Harris (Halloween II, Halloween 4 and 5). The film resumes right where the last one left off with Mary Beth being the only survivor. She makes it back to town and tells her story to Reverend Zombie (Todd) and together they grab a bunch of hunters to go and get the remains of Crowleys victims and her family. More of the same plot, dry but constant, dreadful acting and the editing was just horrid. The violence and gore factor was raised some in this one, from severed heads, split faces, ripped out spines it has it's squeamish factor. GAIN I HAVE TO RATE THIS A MODEST 5/10

This is pretty much the premise of Hatchet II, a bunch of stupid people get slaughtered in amusing ways. The kills were both gory and creative, more than enough to satisfy the most hardcore gore aficionados. What let the movie down was the lack of a good story...actually...it lacked any story. Movie summary in one sentence - Assemble a group of people and herd them down to the swamp to get killed. End of movie. The female protagonist was too stupid to think she would not get killed. Apparently surviving a previous encounter with Victor was not enough, she needed to face him again and let him have another go at her. No sane person with half a brain cell would go back out to relive their previous horrors. Of course, her stupidity reigned supreme and she survived another encounter with the killer.I will say that this sequel is better than the first one. Not by much but better.

I'll come straight out and say I didn't like the first Hatchet. As a fan of old school slashers such as Stagefright, F13, Terror Train and Happy Birthday to Me, I was genuinely disappointed. For a movie that toted itself as having a great villain (which it most certainly didn't) and being a return to form, to me it came across as trying way too hard. It felt kind of like that kid who would hang around at the outside edge of your peer group in school trying to butt in with awkward unfunny jokes; and even if you felt sorry for him you couldn't accept him because he was, well, just not likable in any way whatsoever.Hatchet II was better. I'll give it that much.It was better just because the kills were more entertaining. They are satisfyingly gory, often to the point of being kind of ridiculous. There's no concession to realistic anatomy here, but there doesn't need to be because it's all about innovating new gruesome ways to dismantle a human body in a comedic way.Unfortunately, as with all of Green's other movies (Yes that includes Frozen imo) there's nothing else of any value here. Attempts at humor fall flat, attempts at quirky characters seem forced, and the flow and pace is choppy as hell (pun intended). What you've basically got is a boring clothesline with some nice bloody pictures hung along its length. So although I found Hatchet IIs kills entertaining enough to sustain my interest for the duration of the movie, I can't in good conscience give it any more than a 4/10 because it was a one-trick pony.

You soon to be sociopaths really need to start watching other types genre other than supernatural psychopathic thrillers, action adventure, comedy, or science fiction. Clearly you have no taste when it comes to cinema art. After getting through the opening scene I thought to myself how completely unrealistically stupid, monster reaches into guy's belly completely disemboweling him commences to wrap the guy's intestines around his neck and squeezes until his head pops off, the guy would have been dead from exsanguination as soon as he had his intestines ripped out, doh!, dah!, completely mentally deficient. Sorry but I would have to compare the talent of these screen writers to the intelligence of inbred hillbillies. Yuck, yuck this movie sincerely sucked.
