An excellent fish-based take on the classic Frankenstein story. Must watch for any fans of Frankenstein, fish, or horror movies in general. There are quite a few very scary parts in the movie and it's definitely not appropriate for younger viewers. You'll probably want to avoid it if you get nightmares easily.Take my word for it, you're going to want to stay out of the water for a while after watching this one! My wife and I discuss it almost every time we order seafood now.Stop reading reviews and go out and rent or buy this movie right now. You won't be disappointed!

This looks like a Sci-Fi Channel movie at first glance, except it has just enough nudity and swearing not to be. The plot is that a medical examiner and a hot babe game warden investigate a mysterious death on the Bayou, and quickly find themselves besieged by giant snake-head fish from Asia that have been genetically engineered. The plot moves along pretty tightly and the actors are a lot of fun in their portrayals. The weakest part of the movie are the monsters themselves, which are done in extra-crappy CGI. Still an okay movie to watch and vastly better than the junk you'd normally see on Sci-Fi.There's a whole lot of illogic here, such as why would you hunt a 25 foot long monster fish in a skiff pushed by a propeller?

Well, this is just a piece of trash. The movie tries to play to be "politically correct" - bad guys are Asians, brave people are Mexicans, crazy people are White and good people are Black. Oh yes, there seems to be government limit about good Black people so this piece tries to fit in. However it never helps the movie. It is just very, very boring. It is so schematic that just by mentioning that "it is schematic" I feel I might sign the "contains spoiler" checkbox, because you already know the plot. You know who will live and who will die. The one and only funny scene in this crap which is not laughable even after four beers (I mean this for real!) is the scene where some woman says "well I know how to get out from this situation, it is really easy" and she is instantly killed. Well. That's it. Now I do REALLY feel that I've told the best part of the movie, because there is nothing better in it. So I'm going to check that checkbox because it is REALLY very hard to write 10 lines about such bland, empty, crappy, dull a overall stupid movie without "spoiling" the movie. Worry not, there is not too much of this movie to be spoiled.

Hmmm well yes i thought Frankenfish was a fascinating film in which many mutated fish eat people. Apparently frankenfish heart tastes quite good, as somebody eats one in the middle of this epic film. The conclusion of a man being eaten by lots of little frankenfishes was quite disappointing, as not only did it kill off the coolest character it also made one of those stupid endings all set up for a sequel, yet they never make one. As i have quite a thick skull i still have no idea how the frankenfishes became frankenfishes. Perhaps i wasn't listening to that bit, but hopefully you can make more sense of it than me. I am still nonplussed as to why there is a woman on the front that is only in the movie for about 10 minutes, before she is quite unexpectedly pulled into the depths by a large frankenfish.
