It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

First of all I am going to say that Steven Seagal is one of my favorite action stars of all time. Yes,his ability to act can be questioned .But because of his lightning fast hands, and his ability to never run out of one liners is what makes him an action star.Okay lets get on to the movie. The story is simple : Seagal plays Simon Ballister. An ex-special forces who has a son who is in the police force. His son then gets killed in a gang shootout. Now it is up to Ballister to find out who did this to his son and why.Firstly the good points about the film. I am not going to spoil anything for you only that you should at least give this film a rental if you are not a die hard Seagal fan. The directing is pretty decent by a one DonE.Fauntleroy(who also directed Anaconda 3:Offspring).Seagal has a few funny one liners in this film like " I'm starting to get scared...,I'm starting to get scared ! Come on rob me!".The action scenes in this film are short but pretty decent in a Seagal flick. The fight scenes are decently choreographed and fans of Seagal will not be disappointed as he kicks ass a lot in this film. Now on to the bad points. There is one car chase scene n which it pretty long to me. And it seemed that Seagal is the only one who hits the bad guy's car all the time. And the worst thing is that these two bad guys are armed with a pistol and an SMG. while Seagal is only armed with his signature pistol in almost every film. They manage to miss almost every shot they fire at Seagal. Also the CG in the driving scenes were too fake for me. Although I cant really blame them on this topic as the are filming on a tight budget.Other than that, thats all I can say for this film and I give it a 7/10 for it is one of Seagal's better Direct-to-DVD films out there,than a few of his failed B-movies like Attack Force and Against the dark

this brutal action flick, sees steven seagal return to top form in a fantastic throwback to his marked for death and out for justice days, as seagal gets revenge for the murder of his son. seagal kicks some ass here in some of the most brutal fight scenes he's done since his early films and he still looks the part here, the story is simple seagal's son is a cop and one night he is murdered in the hood, and then steven seagal gets revenge and it's a voilent action fest full of what seagal fans love from his films. great budget and some fantstic action set pieces make urban justice the best steven seagal film for years, and trust mee this is 100 percent bad ass seagal back on top form in a must see action revenge flick.

I saw Urban Justice on the movie network.Seagal's "straight to DVD" films were not all that great(especially compared to his early classics).But the premise of this film seemed somewhat promising.Seagal in the hood messing up gang members! Urban Justice was much better than I expected it to be.It's the closest to his older films compared to the other straight to DVD ones.The old-school aikido action is back and still good! The storyline was decent unlike his other films which were somewhat boring, the story is still simplistic, just like in his early films.Seagal's son who is a cop gets murdered, so Seagal goes to his son's ghetto neighborhood looking for answers while beating on some gang bangers. He finds out who did it and vows to get revenge.Same kind of plot as his older films, however it still does not get old.One of my disappointments with this film was the ending.I'm not going to spoil it here but I really disliked the ending of this film.If you were a Seagal fan who has given up after seeing some of his bad "straight to DVD" movies, give this film a try. You will probably enjoy it, at least more than his other DTV films.

Well let me say that in my opinion this movie should have went into theaters and not direct to video because this movie is awesome. This is a true seagal movie it has lots of action in it. It has a great storyline. The acting is actually very good even for the new comers in this movie. The actors that play in it are great you have so many famous actors such as Steven seagal obviously, Danny trejo who puts a great performance in everything he does, Eddie Griffin Who does a great job in this. The special effects are very well done The effects don't seem like the usual direct to video movie they are very realistic. The action in this is non stop and is very entertaining. So if you are looking for a good Steven seagal flick rent or buy urban justice because it is awesome.Overall Score: ********* out of ********** ****1/2 out of *****
