Beautiful, moving film.

This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.

This is not the worst movie I've seen, but it's in the race. You can't tell a horror story revealing all sinister facts from the beginning. Rebecca De Mornay is overacted. I know she's not the best actress, but in Mother's Day she was very good. The music and lights are OK and help to the scary whole thing. I believe that the main problem is on directing and editing. The performances are not so bad, and with a proper edition work, may be a better movie. There are two good things in the movie: the Apartment's view and Corey Sevier's body. This is a movie that I know that I will remember, and maybe could see it again. I'm a big horror movies fan and sometimes when you give a second chance, with proper environment (low lights, a rainy day), a movie could be better than the first time.

Michael Taverna writes and directs this poor imitation of a decent Japanese horror flick released a couple of years ago. A tale of horror and terror spawned by a dreadful relationship between two sisters and their mother. Janet Slate(Julianne Michelle)must get away from her mother, Maddie(Rebecca De Mornay), an aging singer living of memories of her past success. Janet signs a lease on a 13th floor apartment only to realize a creepy feeling about her new place. She will exit life by way of the 13th floor balcony window. Sister Lara(Mischa Barton)will temporarily stay in apartment 1303 trying to prove her sister did not just step out of a window without some help.Creepy and suspenseful, but just not enough to sustain what could have been an eerie film. De Mornay fits her role of the aging singer; but she can't carry a tune with a slop bucket. Corey Sevier plays an undercover cop. Special effects were tame and welcomes the thought...how did this get an R rating. Apartments don't kill people; people kill people.

Seriously. This movie is pretty bad in exactly to the same way 'The Room' was, which in the case of 'The Room' made it entertaining. Of course, could I make it through 'The Room' without the Rifftrax? I doubt it. Did I make it through 'Apartment 1303'? Yes I did, but not without making up some Riffing of my own. Will I watch it again like I have done with 'The Room'? Maybe because I think I might have missed a couple things while we were discussing the plot holes but I'm dubious. Still, this is definite fodder for those of you who like to riff and make fun of movies. I gave it 5 rating because I am one of those people and this movie scores a 10 in that department so I averaged that 10 with what this movie would normally be rated by myself as a serious horror film, and rounded down. You do the math.
