Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.

a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

After their team up in the 1992 sports romantic comedy The Cutting Edge, the reunion between D.B.Sweeney and Moira Kelly finally happened after 14 years in this movie entitled,"Two Tickets To Paradise". The story revolves around three life-long friends in their 40's that are in search for themselves as they face problems of their own.Mark has developed a serious gambling problem that is beginning to affect his marriage.McGriff cannot let go of his dream of becoming a famous rock star despite having a supportive and beautiful but unfaithful spouse. Finally,Jason refuse to mature and still lives with his parents. This made them go to a trip together and try in search for life answers that will help them find answers in life. This film written and directed by D.B. Sweeney was basically satisfactory movie that had great moments but never got into a satisfying whole.Too bad that D.B. Sweeney's reunion with Moira Kelly did not result into a good film similar to The Cutting Edge. They barely had scenes together and Moira was barely a presence.Nevertheless,it will still manage to provide good entertainment especially to those who love coming of age films.Added to that,it will be appreciated by those who are experiencing difficulties and want to see a movie that will give them hope amidst life's difficulties.

Two Tickets To Paradise is a great movie. I encourage everyone to see it. It is as well acted as it was written and directed. This movie is very character driven and is full of heart. DB Sweeney did an excellent job co-writing and directing as well as acting in this film. John C. McGinley was great as well as a great performance by Paul Hipp. Ed Harris even has a great scene in this movie. I watched this movie one December morning on Showtime. I found it completely by chance, but I am so glad my TV was set to Showtime when I turned it on. The movie was in the beginning and I ended up watching the entire thing. I walked away from watching this movie thinking I had found a hidden gem. It has a great mix of comedy and trying to find yourself. There are so many one liners in this film that remind of conversations I had with my own friends; which is probably why the characters feel so real. The soundtrack is pretty awesome too. Each song seems perfect for each scene it's in. This movie has everything to make it a great movie: good writing, great acting, humor, the great American road trip, a coming of age story, great music...it has everything. I encourage everyone to see Two Tickets To Paradise.

Anyone in their late 30s to late 40s can identify with the characters in this movie. At one time, the protagonists were at the top of their high school food chain- the athlete, the rocker, and the valedictorian, but faced with mid-life, these three friends must confront failed relationships and unfulfilled dreams. While the technical aspects of the film (lighting and sound) scream low budget, the character development and acting are engaging. The banter between the three friends regarding "sport vs activity", "scrudge", and "Labor Day picnic" gives credence to the longevity of their friendship. John McGinley, supported by Bruce Springstein's "When You're Alone" conveys more with two lines than most actors can with a page. Having grown up on the East Coast making annual trips to SC and FL, I enjoyed the regionalism. Any one miss the old South of the Border signs? The soundtrack certainly added to the film- especially if you are familiar with the lyrics. The Dylan, Springstein, and Dire Straits these guys listened to in their youth eventually gave way to the more upbeat sounds of DelAmitri and Bowling for Soup (which I found humorous given 1985 is probably what the band's most recognizable song). Favorable treatment of women as well. I would recommend this film.

"Two Tickets to Paradise" is an amazingly funny movie with genuine heart, about three very different men and the friendship that holds them together as they struggle to finally find their place in the world. This movie makes you feel like you're actually hanging out with these guys and shooting the sh--, er, excrement with them, and never know what sort of crazy thing your buddy is going to say to make beer spray from your nostrils. And as always D.B. nails his performance as the blissfully unaware nice-guy semi-slacker who embodies the innocence and soul of the whole story. This movie is a laugh riot (be careful when watching it while drinking, because you will spray beer out your nose -- so aim carefully), but ultimately is a moving story about having faith in your friends and finding faith in yourself. See it!!
