Thanks for the memories!
Am i the only one who thinks........Average?
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
I thought the movie itself was good, I actually jumped a few times (which I didn't plan on doing at all). The acting however, not so good. I almost turned it off after the neighbor came along. The ending left something to be desired. :/ The original "Exorcist" is still my top choice for a horror flick. The youngins :) (i'm 32) I think will enjoy the more updated versions such as this one. and what was up with the "terminator" priest? Please tell me if anyone out there knows a priest that looks like that. I think overall a great movie plot as it has stood the test of time. However, I think the actors could have been better selected.
This is a good low budget straight-forward exorcism movie. Low budget movies have improved considerably recently and this movie shows it. It looks good, has some good special effects and a decent story. The acting is excellent all around with fresh and realistic dialogue. The lovely Erica Roby is a revelation in the role of the possessed Gail. She is such a natural beauty. The movie hinges on her performance and she does a fine job in representing the various stages of a tormented teen girl. The various priests as well as the psychiatrist also do a good acting job. This movie is surprisingly entertaining considering the limitations in filming almost the entire movie in a house. Definitely worth a look.
I though this was a pretty cool movie out the Asylum films. I have seen Frankenstien, Beast of Bray Road, and King of the Lost World, and War of the Worlds as well. I know Mr. Scott directed some of them and I do have to say this is the best one yet! The blurry feel gives such an old school look to it. I usually never comment of films at all but this one I felt needed a boost! The two female leads I thought really did a great job,Yeah, and there both hot, but the sex scene was so believable, and were good at their parts.Of course nothing will ever beat the Exorcist because it rocked, however this one held its own. I cant wait until the next Asylum film
Well, I just saw this movie in the comforts of my own living room, and I was glad I didn't see this one in the theater.WHY: The acting of most cast members was mediocre at best. The special effects could have been a lot better, as for the C.G.I. its non-existent and as for the sound, cinematography and make-up they are all under the normal standard. If you like B-movies this would get a 6 from me, however for what I expected from this movie it gets a 5-.Quality is in the eye of the beholder.I would not recommend this one to my friends. There's only one way to convince your self about this movie and that's to go see it or rent it a the video store.Greetzz yuribear
