Nice effects though.
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
I think the rating of this movie which is 6.8 for some reason was probably given by all the cast members of this movie itself. For someone who is studying and researching B Grade Movies or Mockbusters for my thesis, I can safely tell you to just toss ur DVD into a trash can.
Every character embodies exactly of who they represent! Women will relate with Ruth, Robyn Buck, in every aspect of life. Riley character, played by John Bain, is a Fragile X Syndrome that we come to love throughout the movie. John Bain's acting is comparable to Sean Penn's ability like in "I am Sam". Grandpa. Myron Natwick, gives us a different side of the story where he is the 3rd generation to live in the same house with Ruth & Riley. He has seen all the history effect his children to his grandchildren's current status. Baby Boomers can relate very well to all Hard Sun characters. The plot, character development, sound / music, editing were perfectly combined to bring the tension of family life, romance on the rise and comedy to bring us back to the real situations throughout the film. You will become attached to each of the characters! Bring hankies for tears of joy and sorrow.
