The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

This film was hard to watch. What rubbed me the wrong way is how mom did things that were morally wrong to both her girls and left the boy's needs out of the picture. I think mom was not able to see what she was doing was wrong and see the pain it was causing. It had some really good acting.Only see this one if you are up for it.

This movie touches me so deeply. Great movie, everyone's acting is on point. Before I watch this movie, I read the reviews to make sure it's worth watching. Then I watched it, and I went back to the reviews to understand why it is only rated 7.4. Why could people hate this movie? And from what I see, most "hated it" people discredit it because it is different from the book. Geez, people! The movie is a work of art in of itself. Why don't you take it as it is? It is a great one! I never know about the book. I just watch the movie and I think it is really excellent. Not any chick flick that you usually see Cameron Diaz in. Watch it if you want to get in touch with your soul! I read the book summary, and I don't like its plot at all. In the book, Anna had to die. I was so enraged. Why? Why does it have to be her? It's like her whole life she was unimportant and at the end, just serve as a donor child for her sister, as she was supposed to be. What the hell was that? I love the movie's ending. At least Anna deserves it. And Kate had her peace!

It's impossible to write a review without spoilers for this movie so I'll simply say....Fantastic Cast, Emotional story, Well written but average direction (hence 9/10 not 10)For me the direction in the first half could have been better but you'll forget about it after a while. The ending could have been better too. The Director has missed a trick here. When you watch it (and love it still) you'll know what I mean and think about the ending you actually wanted. All that said, you have to see this movie!

I've read the book, of course the ending in the movie disappointed. Don't get me wrong it is a very good movie and the acting is breathtaking, but the characters aren't seen in as much depth as the book and that does ruin it a bit. (for example Jesse's drug issue, Brian's love of astronomy, how Sara initially sent Anna away to give blood to Kate right after her birth). the fact that Kate dies is predictable and Sara's character in the book is very different from the one in the film, in the novel Anna dies, it is a painless death, how she went from healthy to on the verge of death in one page shows how death is unpredictable on the other hand Kate looks like a corps, you already know she is dead before she actually is. do you get me? Now i am not saying this film isn't good, because it is, but as a person who has read the book it didn't meet my expectations. the prologue of the book is haunting,
