At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Excellent film dealing with a veteran salesman whose company undergoes change and he soon finds that his boss, age 26, is carrying on with his daughter. We see all the new vocabulary associated with corporations- downsizing, acquisitions, etc.Dennis Quaid and his new young boss shall literally learn from each other.Nothing appears to be a certainty in this film with the exception of how good it really is.It also explores the interpersonal relationships that exists among the team in corporate America.

Dennis Quaid is an actor I've pretty much tried to ignore over the years. It may be that the movies he selected to appear in did not usually appeal to me. However, there have been a couple of films lately -- including this film -- that has made me re-look at Quaid...and I'm becoming more and more impressed. Also, I looked at Topher Grace as that kid on a television series I didn't care for. But I'm impressed with him here. Gotta reexamine that too! Scarlett Johansson is lovely and a fine actress. Just 20 when she made this film, she is racking up quite a list of films to her credit. I can see why.Clark Gregg is good here as a sort of shyster executive. And I always appreciate David Paymer...here as a down-and-out (or is he) ad man.In terms of the story, it's a pretty decent one. A new company buys up a sports magazine and put Topher Grace in charge, even though he's younger and not very experience. Upheavals come, and he begins to look at one of the old-timers (although he's only 52 in the move...Quaid) as a father figure...but also falls in love with Quaid's daughter. Quite a dilemma for Quaid. The one thing in this movie that I really fault is whether it would be very likely that Quaid's character would be quite so abrasive and on the verge of quitting when he has just taken out a second mortgage on his house and his wife is having a baby; not very likely...although it makes the story work.Recommended. I really enjoyed it.

In Good Company is a film about a middle-aged man finds a callow twenty- something usurping his professional life and worming his way into his family in this alternately funny and poignant comedy drama that is written and directed by Paul Weitz. It stars Dennis Quaid, Topher Grace, Scarlett Johansson together with Marg Helgenberger, Clark Gregg, and Selma Blair.Dan Foreman is headed for a shakeup. He is demoted from head of ad sales for a major magazine when the company he works for is acquired in a corporate takeover. His new boss, Carter Duryea, is half his age and a business school prodigy who preaches corporate synergy. While Dan develops clients through handshake deals and relationships, Carter cross-promotes the magazine with the cell phone division and Krispity Krunch, an indeterminate snack food under the same corporate umbrella. Both men are going through turmoil at home. Dan has two daughters, Alex, age 18, and Jana, age 16, and is shocked when his wife tells him she's pregnant with a new child. Carter, in the meanwhile, is dumped by his wife of seven months just as he gets his promotion. Dan and Carter's uneasy friendship is thrown into jeopardy when Carter falls for, and begins an affair with, Dan's daughter Alex. This film has a so-so script but great performances of the cast managed to elevate this film from a level of mediocrity. But nevertheless,it offers laughs at the expense of corporate culture. Also,it could be considered a "grown-up" film for many.

It basically talks about a new young boss, an old father(double the age of his boss), and a daughter. The boss gets in a relation with the daughter, after his divorce. The movie is very nice and interesting to watch, it sounds comedy, but not really. But it keeps a smile on your face.It was written well, let you really sympathize with each character, and this is what each script has to have. The movie was very well directed, could give the director 7.5 out of a Ten. The acting was just perfect, well lets not exaggerate, lets say Very good, if we are talking about Dennis Quaid, or the 26 years old guy or the 18 years old Scarlett. The director by the way is the same director of the 2010 Little Fockers. He is a writer too, wrote this movie, wrote AntZ I give the movie around a 7 out of 10.Enjoy [email protected]
