A waste of 90 minutes of my life

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

There are so many levels to this movie that it would be impossible to do it justice in a review.It is rare for me to be riveted to the screen, give my overall negative attitude towards movies in general and the television (where I see most movies) in particular. So when I encounter something that fires my imagination to the extent that I want to watch it more than once, it deserves all the praise I can give it.The story is so well written and the acting so expertly performed, it is very difficult to find an area that could be improved upon...or even if I would want to if I could.Above all else, a subject that is - to most of us - a taboo, is handled in a very sensitive and respectful manner. At no point did I feel that it was in any way "grotty" or dirty.Of course, I am acutely aware of the fact that the "moms" in this movie are very attractive indeed....I'm not sure that "dude, I boned your mom" with said mom looking like a tree-pig in a bad mood, would work anywhere near as well (unfair though that is).All in all, a fantastic movie, polished and presented in a very thought provoking way.

Never in my life have I ever watched such a cringe worthy 'film'. From the cheap dialogue, to the ridiculous plot that seems to have been written by a 15 year old teenager, this so called 'motion picture' is just pathetic.The acting was similar to that of a porn intro. The plot was not realistic at all and honestly quite disturbing... this story could have been told in 10 million different ways that could have made it better. Instead, it's just a slightly disturbing porno about -------------*spoiler alert*-----------two moms who fall in love with each other's sons and ARE OKAY WITH IT and KEEP THE RELATIONSHIPS GOING. ---------------------------------------I don't know whether the director was trying to be realistic or not, but if she was, this is a MASSIVE failure. The dialogue, the characters *who spends that much time with their mom when they're in their 20s??*, the whole world of this movie is just BIZARRE. It honestly feels like watching an adaption of a badly written fanfic with just as cheesy and ridiculous dialogue and storyline... PLS

You'll like this movie if: - you're ready to see your best friend sleep with your mother - you're ready to see your best friend sleep with your son - you're ready to have a foursome ..including your mother - you have fantasies about your mother's best friend - you go to granny's category on porn sites - you want to sleep with your motherNo Dialogue, No events, Expected events, People staring at each other,, sleeping with each other for no reason...idea could have been better i think that porn movies plot are better than this.. 2 hours total waste of time ... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. . .. .. .. .. .. ... ..... ... ... ... ... .. ... ... ... ... ..... .... ... ... ... ... ... .. . .. .

I saw that this had won a couple of awards. It also stars Naomi Watts who is one of my favourite actresses.The chemistry in the love stories just wasn't there. The story just seemed too contrived and far fetched. It was one of those movies that I just wanted to be over. Towards the end it did get a little more interesting but then had an unsatisfying ending.Also Naomi is starting to show her age.Were there any good points? The scenery was excellent and I did enjoy listening to all of those Aussie accents. It makes you appreciate that Australian actors have to put on American accents for most of their Hollywood films.
