It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

First off, if you like zombie flicks, you'll probably be entertained enough to give this a view. The acting is above average and the special effects are really good. Just don't expect much in the way of writing. That's really my biggest complaint. For the budget it looks like this thing had, did they even read the script? I think they just saw "zombies on a plane" and thought that would be enough. The movie spends a lot of time introducing practically ALL the characters on the plane, most of them unlikeable except for the crew. If those introductions would have made me care about any of the characters or, better yet, set up some great ironic deaths, it would have been worth it, but it didn't. What a missed opportunity! You want to see some of these people get theirs, but they just sort of get bit and turn into zombies too. Why do I have to know anything about them? Where's the drama? I found myself only mildly entertained and often thinking, "That's it? They could have done that way better." So many missed opportunities for both comedy and drama. This is an unimaginative "zombies on a plane" flick. The brief scene in World War Z was better. The "zombies on a train" flick Train to Busan was WAY better. This is just okay.

Okay, so pretty much any zombie-fan will know about George A Romero's classic 'Night of the Living Dead.' There have been many imitations. Here we have one that goes as far as to try and rhyme its title for added effect. The result – so-so.I'll start by saying that 'FLIGHT of the Living Dead' is no classic. Any zombie movie today always has to fight to get noticed among the dozens of undead offerings we find released straight to DVD. So... what has this one got that makes it worth the watch? The answer... no much really. But that doesn't mean it's all together bad. The title alone basically tells you everything you need to know about the plot. A plane. A toxic outbreak on board. Zombies. Before I watched it I did kind of wonder how they could drag out a film set in such a confined space to an hour and a half – even the biggest jumbo jets would soon find every last inch crammed by flesh-eating ghouls pretty quickly. However, the film-makers have done a reasonable job of making things believable. The first half of the film introduces us to the characters (and reinforces what little plot there is). Basically, the plane is populated by stereotypes. You will probably guess the fate of most of them, but there are a couple which actually stand out as people you'd root for (ironically, one of the best characters is a prisoner who's on his way to jail!). And that's enough for this sort of film. It basically scrapes through on character traits. The plot is wafer-thin and the gore is nothing that you haven't seen before.Like I said, it's no classic, but if you're in the mood for (yet another) zombie film and you're in a forgiving mood, then this one might fill an hour and a half of your life. For me, the only part I really rolled my eyes at were when the undead – somehow – managed to 'punch through' the floor of the plane in order to climb out of the 'hold' and get into the cabin to feast on the passengers. Next time I'm on a plane I'll be a little worried when I'm taking my seat if I think the floor beneath my feet could give way so easily!

A scientist by the name of "Leo Bennett" (Erick Avari) has created a new serum from a malaria virus which rejuvenates dead tissue. As luck would have it, a coworker named "Dr. Kelly" (Laura Cayouette) had just suffered a life-threatening injury and was given this new serum in a last-ditch effort to keep her alive. However, in order to continue treating her, Dr. Bennett has had to place her in a type of cryogenic container and put her on a flight from New York to Paris for further treatment in Prague. Unfortunately, the airplane encounters a severe storm which causes the power for the container to fail and results in Dr. Kelly freeing herself. Under strict orders not to let her out, the guard responsible for securing the container shoots and kills her. But the serum takes effect and she returns as a zombie. Soon she manages to infect others and the passengers on the plane have more than a thunderstorm to worry about. At any rate, rather than going over the entire plot I will just say that this film contains quite a bit of action and gore which should satisfy most zombie enthusiasts. Additionally, the acting was pretty good with Kevin J. O'Connor (as "Frank") and Kristen Kerr ("Megan') probably standing out the most. Likewise, there were several attractive women who also added some nice scenery with Mieko Hillman ("Stacy"), Heidi Marnhout ("Emily"), Serah D'Laine ("Cara"), Ashley Bashioum ("Jackie") and the aforementioned Kristen Kerr to name just a few. Now, normally I don't like movies that have totally unrealistic scenarios and this film certainly had its share of them. For example, there were bullets flying all over the airplane yet there never was a single instance of decompression as a result. There was even an explosion which killed several zombies but caused no structural damage to the hull either. Only in Hollywood. Even so, the action was such that I still enjoyed it in spite of it all. In short, this was a well-made film (in spite of some of the completely unrealistic scenes) which most people will probably enjoy.

I loved this movie. If you are watching it as a documentary you will be disappointed, if you are watching it to be entertained you will have a blast. Hot chicks in miniskirts, zombies, campy fun, yet in a well made and directed movie. It's fun to watch it and say "Why can he pull out all of those wires and not harm the airplane and yet I can't use my cellphone? Hey, wait a minute, where did all of these guns come from? I want a gun. Why don't the stewardess's on my flights look like this?" P.S. I'm actually married to a stewardess and she screamed at the TV so many times due to factual errors but I'm buying the DVD because it was so fun.
