I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

I was sort of disappointed when I realized about the fact that Still Smokin is not the second film of Cheech and Chong but the fifth one. When I bought the DVD with both Up in Smoke and Still Smokin I didn't knew much about Cheech and Chong, still I don't know much about them yet I loved Up in Smoke. Certainly by knowing that this was their fifth film my expectations decreased in a considerable way but I wasn't ready to see very soon unfunny stuff from Cheech and Chong, I missed so much Pedro and Man Stoner!Actually the first surprise comes when the film begins: the music. Is a complete change but anyway here they play themselves and they travel to Amsterdam. I liked this little section of the film or at least it is an OK introduction with this funny guy from Holland who at first thinks that Cheech is Burt Reynolds and that Chong is Dolly Parton. Is funny when Cheech says to that guy something like "don't worry I can bring here E.T., is a personal friend of mine" but certainly is not funny at all when Cheech is disguised as E.T. or every time they imagine a sketch. Each imaginary sketch is as boring as unfunny as ridiculous, very few laughs with the real show and I was extremely glad when Cheech and Chong received the applause of the audience at the very end of the film.

I think many people will disagree with me, but this film has much more funny moments than the first part. OK, so maybe the first movie had a better plot and this film is kinda pointless, but that's what's good about it, there were shown many different comical performances by Cheech & Chong, some of the were really funny. Some people say that this movie is bad, but how can the film about Cheech & Chong in Amsterdam be bad? This time there was not only drug humor (though mostly drug humor) but there was a lot of sex and other type of jokes. The drug dealing scene was very funny. Maybe as movie it isn't that good as the original, but it's definitely funnier than original.

First off, unlike the person who's comment is the main comment for this film. in this film the stoner humor is all there and then some. they have all kinds of funny jokes and skits. and the solution to the bankrupt film festival was not a drug sale. but a show of there famous skits. and honestly i fell over laughing during this entire movie. I've never laughed harder at anything in my life as to some of the scenes in this movie. like for example, queer wars, or the dogs Herbie and Ralf. lol, forget a serious critics asinine comments, this film is simply put a simple comedy that everyone who likes cheech and chong should see. its not unique, its not high tech, its not complicated. its simple and funny. and thats what a comedy is all about. after all, look at kiss, the bands name says it all. because it stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. so if you want it simple, and funny to boot. this is a film for you.

Being a fan of That 70's Show and liking it's Leo character who is played by Tommy Chong, I thought I should check out the movies I had heard about that he made with Cheech Martin. After viewing my first Cheech & Chong movie I am left with mixed thoughts. Before I watched it, I looked at it's page on IMDb. Seeing it was full of low star ratings and negative reviews, I knew I had picked the wrong Cheech & Chong film. Still, I went into it optimistically but it turned out so-so.I don't think there were any jokes that made me laugh out loud, but there were some that made me smile or very lightly laugh. Even though all the gags weren't good, the way they did it is still an original approach to comedy. If there were better jokes it could of been really good.Tommy Chong is a very good actor in this movie. Even when it's not funny, Chong still does well acting wise. Plus sometimes he has this innocent look on his face which makes you feel sorry for him if you don't laugh. Cheech does OK. He's not as good at acting as Chong is, but still OK.Overall this is an OK movie. You'll probably get a few laughs out of it, but you're not missing anything if you don't watch it.
