Thomas Finley has been arrested for the murder of his nineteen-year old sister, Samantha and fifty-two year old, Edgar Lauren, a Professor and paranormal investigator. Police were called to the scene by Thomas himself in the early hours of the morning, finding him inside with his sister's body cradled in his arms. In his statement given in police custody, Thomas claimed that the victims were attacked by a demonic entity of unknown origin. Days later, he committed suicide. It is the opinion of those closely related to the family that a video found at the scene be shown to the public as a final testament to what actually happened inside the Finley home in those final days.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Paranormal Entity (2009) ** (out of 4) The Asylum's "mockbuster" of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY has a brother (Shane Van Dyke) filming his sister (Erin Marie Hogan) and mother (Fia Perera) when strange things start to occur. You know, you have to love the cheapness of The Asylum. For very little cash, very little time and very little talent they manage to make all sorts of dough with this generic little films. This one here is actually much better than the rest of their "found footage" films but at the same time it's very weak when compared to the other movie and its biggest sin is the fact that it's not scary at all. It's pretty funny to watch this movie and see how closely it comes to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. There are several scenes that are nearly the same with the only difference being that here it's not scary. I personally loved the other film but as a film buff I'm curious to see the rip-offs. For the most part I thought it was technically a good movie. The cinematography was nice for this type of movie and I thought there were a few good ideas sprinkled across the picture. I won't spoil exactly what's doing the hauntings but this was a nice item that is sadly wasted in a not-so-good movie. I also thought Erin Marie Hogan was good as the sister and her nude scene towards the end did at least wake me up. The highlight of the film? The speech given by mommy when the son asks her and the sister to go to a motel while he stays at the house with the ghost. Priceless.

Good acting with an imaginative twist on the original "Paranormal Activity" make this movie worth watching for anyone who enjoys the Shock- u-mentary genre ala Blair Witch. The story centers around the "found footage" of paranormal activity experienced by a small family.I watched this movie before Paranormal Activity. I ended up watching the P.A. after getting the DVD's 1&2 with advertised free tickets for the third installment. Paranormal Entity is actually a lot scarier; with a lot more imaginative "phenomena" going on. Finally, a 5$ DVD from Walmart that is actually worth every penny!

The title of my review is just an example of what is more interesting or remotely exciting than this film. For a second I thought it seemed familiar, Paranormal Entity... Paranormal Activity, oh but which is which!? It could indeed easily be mistaken. "Hey man, you hear about that film?" "What that Paranormal uh..." "Oh god what was it? Acti-Entity?" "Hmm, it's something like that! The one where the girl gets dragged out of bed," "Ha-ha, oh yeah, I think it might be Paranormal Entity? I can't be sure; we'll just have to buy both of the DVD's to find out for sure." "Well that was crap, let's watch Die Hard!" "YEAH!" As you can see, it's a clever tactic in a way, the fact it can be easily mistaken means it can be easily watched; then you feel so low after, having wasted your money and then need John McClane to restore the equilibrium again. This film is a complete rip off. The style of filming is identical to Activity too; the only slight difference is... Okay to be fair the story isn't exactly the same as PA, but the plot is pretty much the same thing. There are even scenes in particular which share a remarkable resemblance to PA.Overall it's not worth noting anything more about this film, compared between the two films, PA wins. So the conclusion is pretty obvious really. I thought it deserved a two, just because of how the film ends; okay I lied. The ending was pretty bad too, but what did make it worthwhile, was that after I used the DVD as coaster for my coffee cup; not straight away or anything, just over time, used a crappy DVD I found lying around; ended up being this one by coincidence. So just a quick, bullet point overview.1) Acting is laughable in some instances.2) If you're desperate for any kind of nudity, skipping to the end is all you need to do.3) Poorly directed, poorly written (even for a rip off).4) Can use DVD as a coaster.

This film is like all the other story,s of paranormal nature. The first thing to get out the way is that the video footage is presumed to be real even though you can access a cast and crew list from anywhere on the net. Secondly it losses its realism as you can see strings and pulleys in certain scenes .If your a horror fan then this film is a no no, all you will do is criticize and moan like i am , but on the other hand if your a screamer person that still believes in the tooth fairy and troll's then this would make a good sleep over film for you and your girly fluffy mates to watch whilst cuddling your care bear and brushing your my little pony .I gave this film a 1 out of ten because of the poor acting and the bear faced cheek to call it real footage.
